Have you paused and thought about the meaning of Christmas this year?

The Heart of the Author

A book club for busy readers and non-readers to find tidbits of truth to lead them closer to the Word

The true Christmas story is found in the greatest book

After 400 years of silence, they brought Jesus to Simeon who rejoiced and said, "Mine eyes have seen thy salvation."

The hard part about Christmas is the waiting, but God's timing is perfect. Galatians 4:4, "When the time came to completion, God sent His son..."

Jasa shares her word for 2018, actually is more than a word. From the book of Psalms she is focusing on stretching out her clenched hands and lifting them to the Lord, totally dependent on Him.

Jesus is the light of the world. Isaiah tells us, "The people walking in darkness have seen a great light." He is Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Meditate on the names of God to draw closer to Him.

If you want a Santa Claus God, you will be disappointed. Instead we need a savior. God in His infinite wisdom gives us exactly what we need even when it's not what we think we want. He knows the end of the story.

Like Mary, may we treasure these things in our hearts so they flow from our mouths as a testimony to the world. Receive the gift of Christ, the gift of adoption this Christmas.
